These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of The Split mobile application ("the App") developed by Ekaterina Pranitskaya ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
The Split is a bill-splitting app that helps you divide restaurant bills among friends. You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
The App offers auto-renewable subscription plans ("The Split Pro") that provide access to premium features:
Subscription prices are displayed in the App before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
If a free trial is offered, it will be clearly indicated in the App. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged.
The App and its content, features, and functionality are owned by Ekaterina Pranitskaya and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Data you enter into the App (dinner details, friend names, notes) is stored locally on your device. We do not claim ownership of your content. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
The App uses third-party services including OpenAI (for AI-powered features) and RevenueCat (for subscription management). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that bill calculations or AI-generated results will be error-free. You are responsible for verifying any calculations.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
